A beautiful smile and a burst of good hearty laughter starts your day with brimming energy. But do we really start our day that way?
I definitely feel that we have forgotten to smile…. and laughter … lost long back. Our day starts with anxieties, worries, pressure, and insecurities. We gear ourselves up in the morning to face the trials of the day. But what we actually do in the process is inflict acute pain upon ourselves and sometimes unknowingly upon others.
The question is, why do we do this? Is it a coping mechanism to hide our pain and bear with it? Why do we wear fake smiles on our faces and try to show that it’s all well even though we can’t stop ourselves from worrying about our daily quest for survival? When our simple to-do lists feel like a weight too heavy to carry, how do we actually remember to smile?
If we think about the scientific process involving brains and neurons, we‘ll only get more stressed. So let’s just forget how to smile and focus on why we need to smile and also laugh. Many of us sometimes feel that we cannot find ourselves smiling from deep within and it is difficult to find happiness. Often nothing pleases us and we only smile as we have to. In such a scenario, it is important to understand that it is our stress and unnecessary anxiety which is weighing us down. In order to cure this one needs to work on the taken for granted medicine, which is “THE MOMENT”.
What is “THE MOMENT”? Simply put, it is that section of our daily routine, where we perceive something happy but ignore it as we aren’t paying attention to it and worrying about something we can’t help. We tend to ignore such moments and get engrossed in our daily chores. We need to retain and recall these moments so that when we think about them we find our simple facial muscles responding to endorphins, and very simply speaking, WE SMILE.
The next big question that arises is when and where do we find these moments? We have to get them simply from everything around us without any stress of actually finding them. These moments are encircling our lives all the time. All we need to do is allow ourselves to get engulfed by them. When the cheer of happiness spreads everywhere, we will find that not only do we smile effortlessly, but we are even able to laugh loudly. So the next time we take that little walk, ride on the elevator or take that first sip of tea, it is essential that we just take a second to feel alive, and let ourselves be wooed by the moment.
Let every heart yearn for a smile
Learn to smile and earn to smile.
A smile that will sweep you
into a universe of Happiness,
where you meet Pleasure,
which wipes your tears and Shed your fears
And gives you every reason to thrive.
